As nod to the conservation of Catholic art in Bruges this work depicts a classical statue of a holy female figure. This in contradicion with more modern and graphic elements.
The driving force behind KYMO ONE is making murals in the public space to make the works accessible to an audience as broad as possible. This garantees an interaction between either an accidental or deliberate audience, as well as excluding any discrimination in who can view the work.
Typical for KYMO ONE (at the moment) is the use of figurative elements from art history in combination with graphic and illustrative elements. This is an attempt to enter into a dialogue with these works, as well as gain an understanding of the power that these works contain.
